Last week hit me like a ton of bricks coming down with the flu. Instead, I found myself in bed, shivering from being cold minute to sweating from feeling like I was on fire. It was the ultimate breakdown of reminding me in order to live my best life I needed that break down. I was ripping and running on a regular basis not refueling. Laying in bed I realize my weight was up, my mind was on overload and it was time to rebuild. The first thing I realized was I have to get serious about my health. This wasn’t a resolution but an aha moment that I was worth every bit of care. Like a lighbulb, I could easily burn out without it.
What I know for sure about breaking down
With every break down there is room to build up. All of us are seeking to be better in some shape, form or fashion. I am challenging myself along with my readers to commit to your self-care first. No more telling yourself, “I’ll start tomorrow.” Timing is of the essence and even if the step is small like giving up sodas, taking a walk, dancing for ten minutes or eating a healthy breakfast. You’ve started and your taking stock into you. This breakdown forced me to take a hard look at my eating habits and lack of movements. It gave me a period of looking back on what led to the breakdown. I calculated all of my bad eating habits, days of not exercising and glued to fixing others. I was devaluing the stock of me and having the flu showed me just how valuable I really am.
It is time to lay the bricks of our lives and build the masterpieces. Become the most valuable person in your life. Fix what ails you. Take stock in becoming a brand new for you. I wish everyone continued success on their journey rebuilding themselves. To become so confident in their journey of life and not quit. Every day is a chance to renew but as we know life and time are not promised to us. Let’s hold one another hands virtually because support is key. Let’s give tips and ideas to our families tearing down old habits and rebuilding new ones. For those days when we simply do not have the strength call on a friend to encourage you. We got this! We can do this! Become better simply because you are the most valuable person in the room.
