Breaking Down & Rebuilding Yourself!
Last week hit me like a ton of bricks coming down with the flu. Instead, I found myself in bed, shivering from being cold minute to sweating from feeling like I was on fire. It was the ultimate breakdown of reminding me in order to live my best life I needed that break down. I was ripping and running on a regular basis not refueling. Laying in bed I realize my weight was up, my mind was on overload and it was time to rebuild. The first thing I realized was I have to get serious about my health. This wasn’t a resolution but an aha moment that I was worth every bit of care. Like a lighbulb, I could easily burn out without it.
What I know for sure about breaking down
With every break down there is room to build up. All of us are seeking to be better in some shape, form or fashion. I am challenging myself along with my readers to commit to your self-care first. No more telling yourself, “I’ll start tomorrow.” Timing is of the essence and even if the step is small like giving up sodas, taking a walk, dancing for ten minutes or eating a healthy breakfast. You’ve started and your taking stock into you. This breakdown forced me to take a hard look at my eating habits and lack of movements. It gave me a period of looking back on what led to the breakdown. I calculated all of my bad eating habits, days of not exercising and glued to fixing others. I was devaluing the stock of me and having the flu showed me just how valuable I really am.
